Dominique Cowden is a Melbourne Dance Artist, whom is near the end of completing her Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) with Transit Dance in Contemporary.
Recently performing with The Stephanie Lake Company in Colossus, this saw her dance in the Melbourne Art’s Centre as part of the Melbourne Fringe. Choreographers Dominique has worked with include Stephanie Lake (Chunky Move & LGI inc), Lauren Langlois (Chunky Move & ADT), Tara Jade Samaya (Chunky Move & ADT), Adam Wheeler (Chunky Move & Tasdance) and Daniel Jaber (ADT)
Dominique has strong interest in choreography and performance, how these two relate and how they can be shifted, modified and toyed with to current a unique viewing experience. Hoping to start delving into the world of choreography herself, 2019 hopes to be filled with art and pushing boundaries.
In the realms of making, Dominique recently produced her own short Contemporary Dance Film called ‘idee fixe’. This featured four young contemporary artist’s and utilised her other talents such as videography and editing. This, she believes is crucial in developing a articulate eye for composition and audience perspective, as long as the art permits.
